Professor Stephen Joseph

Professor Stephen Joseph has worked at all levels of the education system for over three decades. He holds a diploma in teaching; BA and MA degrees in History and a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction.

He currently serves as Professor of Curriculum & Instruction and Assistant Vice president, Undergraduate Studies at the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT).


Professor Joseph has published several peer-reviewed articles in Caribbean and international journals. His research centres on curriculum studies, history education, teacher education, boys and men in education, education reform, and quality issues in higher education.


He also holds membership in several professional organizations including the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD); the American Educational Research Association (AERA); Mixed Methods International Research Association- Caribbean Chapter (MMIRA-CC); Trinidad and Tobago Association of Teacher Educators (TTATE).
